Start Scrum team with Rhythm

Why Rhythm is important?

Empirical Process based on Transparency, Inspection, and Adaptation. Therefore Rhythm of Inspection, and Adaptation is very important. It will help your Scrum team have Time-Box and circle of Focus, Learn and Mature.

“Rhythm helps team to focus and reduces the complexity”

Build it at the beginning.

One of the very important things I used to build when starting a new Scrum team is having the Scrum team define the rhythm of events.

Let’s start this with 5 events of Scrum, and facilitate the team to build their Schedule:

Sprint: define the Sprint duration. (Read more about Sprint length here)
Sprint Planning: Time-box; when and where will it be held?
Daily Scrum: Time-box; when and where will it be held?
Sprint Review: Time-box; when and where will it be held?
Sprint Retrospective: Time-box; when and where will it be held?

Below is an example of Schedule:

Make it transparent

There are 2 things you should do to maximize this Schedule is Transparent:

– Remember to maintains & update it following reality of need.
– Make it visible to all stakeholders.
